Image
To all who felt life cheated them and were given an outside chance of survival by the rest, who thought that twasn't worth it afterall and couldn't think of any way out than to...........throw in. His parent failed to vaccinate him He is now sixteen years old Humptying dumtying with crutches No thanks to polio myelitis Her parent separated when she was five Due to “irreconcilable difference” She ended up in a foster home Deeply resenting and hating her world Her face was slightly distorted Due to a fall she had when she was young Leaving scars and indelible mark around it Thinking she was the ugliest being on earth Killing her feminine pride in the process He wondered why God brought him into that family Wretched and misfortuned family, he thought Why would God put him in such family Of all the families on earth They all met at a junction called SUICIDE Each all wanting to end their miserable lives But as providence would have it They decided to see who was ...

WHEN THE MUSIC FADES

Image
When the music fades And the beautiful rhythm dies out When we finally realized That we are gradually reaching the end The once anticipated journey Is gradually reaching its finals When it dawned on us That the dawn is long gone And we are closer to dusk Dawn –Dusk; what a short time And the events from the morn Systematically flashes back on us Causing our heart to “quake” And our knees to wobble What we eagerly anticipated earlier Is fast turning to our worst nightmare What we thought was not IT Is fast becoming IT What we thought were shadows Now happened to be more real Our ever trusted sense of judgment Now becomes elusive and evasive Ironic, how the most admired rose Now shrieks in the pit of despair How the once vigorous grass blade Now twist itself in the oblivion of shame The best of the best method Incapable of restoring their glory Some survive till its night Some were plucked before blossoming Others mysteriously met their wate...

I HAVE A DREAM

Image
I HAVE A DREAM Man: I have a dream! I have a dream!!I have a dream!!! Audience: That what??? Man :( clears throat) em…..em…That one day I’m gonna build an air suspended castle Audience :( hisses) in your dreams Gbam!!!That says it all, who can be more correct than the audience, who can be more analytical than they. Oh yes, the best of castles are built in the dream, the best of automobiles are mostly “dream ridden”. The best of life are best lived in this same dream. Let me proceed to my main point by quoting one of Sir Isaac Newton’s “dream”, the first law of motion states that every object continues in their state of rest or motion unless acted upon by an external force, may I safely state my own dreamy version by stating that “every dream continues in their state of “virtuality” or “illusionality”unless acted upon by the conscious and ...

DISCIPLINE II

Image
A gross misconception commonly made is the costly assumption of equating discipline with "suffering". Someone once said that "prosperity is a greater test of character than adversity" and this is so true because there is always this facade sense of humility in times of adversity, the true stance of a man is known through his sense of judgment in times of plenty. The innate relationship between the monkey and banana is only known when it sees a banana and not when you toss an orange. Discipline derives its true meaning not from assumption but fervent resolution against all odds. Thus we can safely conclude that self-discipline is arrived at when there is no difference between the "you in plenty" and the "you in nothing". Embedded in between this gap is a strong moral resolve coupled with divine providence.

DISCIPLINE

Image
George Washington said "Discipline is the soul of an army; it makes small number formidable, gives strength to the weak and brings esteem to all". Discipline is doing what is required of you at the required time to get the desired result; it is doing what is demanded to get what is expected. If discipline were to belong to a family tree, it would be a very close sibling to self-control; it entails the deliberate and conscious effort to channel one's energy to a particular cause in order to achieve a particular goal. Emerging successful in anything requires discipline; What champions do daily, losers do occasionally, it’s all embedded in discipline. Discipline is always the main ingredient in the story behind every glory. You may ride to life's pinnacle on eagles wing, but what keeps and sustain you is discipline.

SALT OF THE EARTH

Image
One of salt’s ability that easily comes to mind is in its ability to act as a preservative. As Christians we are called to act as a preservative to our world, we are called to save a dying world. What happens when it is noticed that the so-called salt was unable to prevent from decay but even adds to the rottenness already on ground, ironic isn’t it? Many of us Christian have loose our saltiness and the kind of stench emanating from us “the useless salt” is even greater than that of the rotten world we are called to preserve. Most of what we see are Christians by assumption, birth and religion, Christians who bask in the euphoria of “our father’s “ exploits, whose egoistic and calm “all is well” assumption gives a false preview of their spiritual status (at least a useless salt is also white in color as the good one), Christians who prefer to drown to death than cry for help, who bogusly sit on the seat of mediocrity hoping the tides of event would favor us in ...
